| I've been having some pretty awesome weekends lately so I must record them. July 6: Jubilee BBQ During the relay race, Ty (who was on my team) and someone else was neck and neck during the last "task" of the relay. Ty, being the amazingly fast runner that he is, ran with all his might to the finish line! As I saw him running, I was clapping with excitement! Then I thought, "he's heading straight towards me. I should move." Before I knew it, he knocked me over to the ground, running right past me. After I recovered from the shock, I just laughed. He came back and felt so bad. Really, I was fine. But i wish I could've been an on-looker b/c it was probably even funnier that way. July 12: Westlake Dance Performance Totally put fuel to the fire that was already burning. I want to take dance classes again. Highlights: Kaley was so graceful and every movement was danced from her soul all the way to her fingertips. One lady danced on stilts. That's right, stilts. Another girl danced with so much passion. It was such a serious song, but she just totally laid herself out there as if to say, "Here's my heart. Take it or leave it." THEN there was the girl who danced while she did spoken word. That was AMAZING! And what left me speechless was the fact that the spoken word was about Jesus and His army. Wow. July 19: Adopt a Unit We went into a transitional housing unit to clean and decorate it for the next family coming in. When I first entered, the unit was drag, gloomy, dirty, and old. When we left, it was livable, uplifting, and clean. And we brought the Holy Spirit too! That's probably what changed the atmosphere. I was so inspired by my brothers and sisters. They went right to work and went at it. I love them. July 20: Bite of Seattle I love the atmosphere! Families, friends, excitement, crowds of happy people, busyness, fun, and FOOD! I had the cilantro salmon and it was so good! Can't wait for next year. This weekend: Vancouver! Side note: I tried Molly Moon's Ice Cream the other night. Super crowded- long line. Home made ice cream made from locally grown ingredients with the most interesting flavors. I tried cardamom, lavendar, thai ice tea, and salty caramel, and decided on salty caramel. They all tasted exactly what the flavor was. Maybe a little too much. Next time, I'll try the plain ones like chocolate and vanilla. With their homemade waffle cones. |
